The mission of the Medical Heritge Foundation is to provide community education and ensure a sustainable pipeline of future physicians.

The Medical Heritage Foundation of Luzerne County is a 501(c)(3) affiliate of the Luzerne County Medical Society.
In  keeping with its mission of supporting medical education, the Foundation has provided more than $15,000 in financial support to the medical community of Luzerne County since its founding in 2007.  Grants have provided support for community medical education through an annual medical/legal seminar, for students to attend conferences that enable them to further their education and meet colleagues and mentors and, most significantly, for an annual scholarship award to a third-year student at Geisinger-Commonwealth School of Medicine (GCSOM).

How to apply:

Deadline is October 15, 2019.  Applicants are required to submit a brief essay on why they should be awarded the scholarship and must also get a referral from GCSOM attesting to the applicant being a student in good standing.
